Fun yet serious, challenging but supportive, warm and engaging. Maurie is a natural improviser who can adjust to any situation. His greatest asset is his ability to interact with anyone.
Maurie has hosted a broad range of events from the Australian appearances of LA’s most famous male model Fabio to Energy Australia’s Sydney 2000 Olympic Community events, and a National Road Show conference tour for the Coles Myer Liquor Group as “That Wine Guy”.
He’s also been the front man for many product launches, conferences and Melbourne Cup Days. He’s performed an extensive array of characters for Matilda Cruises, the National Maritime Museum, the Rocks Market, Darling Harbour Authority, the NRL, British Airways, Sydney Olympic Park and Uncle Toby’s. His role play for training experience includes 7 years in managerial training for the likes of the City of Sydney, Sydney Coaching and Mentoring association and Qantas to name a few.
With ten years experience, he is an expert in Forum theatre being the facilitator, a role known as the Joker, with Milk Crate Theatre one of the most funded community projects in Sydney. He is a genuine, natural educator with 16 years as Senior Acting teacher with Darlo Drama were he works solely with adult beginners from the corporate world and beyond, who attend to improve a range of things from confidence, presentation skills, creativity, social skills and plain old fun.
A trained actor (Theatre Nepean) with a B.A. in performance, Maurie has many theatre, film and television credits including He Died with a Felafel in His Hand, Australia’s longest running play. You can also catch him playing Holebrook in the Australian thriller feature film Fragment in 2010.
